Isla Holbox SpayNeuter Project

isla holbox
spay neuter project

Our mission is to humanely alleviate animal suffering and overpopulation by providing access to basic health care, including sterilization services.

We are an all-volunteer group of veterinary professionals and animal lovers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of the dogs and cats of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and the people who care for them.

To date, the Isla Holbox Spay/Neuter Project team has performed over 5,000 sterilization surgeries in small villages with little or no access to veterinary care. It is our goal to not only expand our own clinics to visit more needful communities every year, but to also empower local veterinarians and animal care workers to carry on the mission in their own locations.

In a normal year we would be scrambling to finish all details for our upcoming clinics in Quintana Roo. This year sadly is different. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic we have had to postpone our May clinic.

Our goal this year was to alter 1000 pets. This is still an achievable goal. Our May clinic is postponed until further notice. Our hope and plan is to hold a mega clinic in the fall. The need will be great. In the mean time we have offered to fund spay neuter surgeries at the refugio on Holbox. If it becomes possible for a clinic to be held before we can physically attend, IHSNP will fund the clinic. We continue to count on your support. The need will be even greater for spay neuter after the postponement of our clinic.

we are an all-volunteer organization. 100% of your donation will be applied directly to our work.
IHSNP is a registered 501(c)(3) charity.  your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
